Location Evaluation Reports
Assessing dangerous or difficult assignment locations
ORC’s Location Evaluation Reports assess more than 120 cities worldwide on 14 factors that make up daily life for expatriates and their families. These reports provide the information your company needs to
- Keep abreast of recommended incentive compensation for hardship assignments
- Determine an appropriate incentive for expatriates facing specific conditions in the host country
- Explain to the expatriate the rationale behind the incentive
Using a unique, and transparent, rating system, ORC comes up with an impartial recommendation on what percentage of base pay companies should provide their assignees. Whether the recommendation is 5 percent, or 45 percent, or nothing at all, you see how we arrived at the number; the 14 evaluation factors are reported in detail—and weighted—so that you can see how each contributes to making the location undesirable, difficult, or dangerous.
ORC fully discloses the criteria used for rating each location and our premium calculations, so that the results are explainable and defensible. The transparency of this process allows ORC to work with clients to tailor the reports to accommodate unique situations, and allows clients to adjust ratings for specific circumstances. And ORC updates these reports regularly, so the premium recommendation reflects the current situation “on the ground.”
Location Evaluation Reports are available for approximately 120 locations. See the menu at right for a list.
