The annual SIRS® Sales Compensation Survey, Consumer Products offers competitive pay information for benchmark jobs in the consumer products sales industry.
The survey uses SIRS® benchmarks and levels as the standard of comparison. The Basic Report for this survey has two major sections: Benchmark Data (compensation and bonus plan design) and General Practices (collected online).
Benchmark Data
Data is broken out by product line and sales volume. It captures:
- Line-by-line compensation data, including average, low, and high salaries; total cash compensation (actual and target); average bonus; target bonus percents and salary range (minimum, midpoint, and maximum)
- Bonus plan design, containing type of plan (sales incentive, management incentive, executive); individual components and weights
- Organizational design (reports to position title, supervisor’s position title, number supervised direct/indirect)
- Stock option eligibility
