ORC Global Development: Overview

More than 75 years ago, John D. Rockefeller established a staff of industrial relations specialists to help advise him on the management of his various companies. This staff excelled at developing a new body of knowledge and expertise, and organized itself into Industrial Relations Counselors (IRC), a not-for-profit, applied-research organization, dedicated to serving clients by advancing the art, knowledge, and practice of organizational and human relationships at work. In 1953, IRC spun off a for-profit consulting firm, ORC Worldwide, which has served to assist clients with specialized knowledge and advice about human resources management. Today, ORC serves human resources leaders and specialists in more than 2,000 global to mid-size corporations and educational and charitable organizations, including those operating in developing nations.
