Breakthrough Diversity Network
A network for managers of diversity and equal opportunity issues at public-sector organizations in the UK
The leading source of hands-on information on equality and diversity issues for the public sector in the UK, the Breakthrough Network provides a confidential forum for leaders in public sector organizations to discuss equal opportunities and diversity issues in relation to employment and service delivery. The forum addresses issues of equality, including race, gender, disability, age, religion, and related areas, and provides an opportunity to access leading experts in the equalities field.
As the nature of work changes significantly, in some cases the public sector has been at the forefront of innovation. This group explores the members' experience in tackling discrimination and brings practical experience on a range of issues—e.g., the development of equal opportunities strategies, gaining commitment from top management, effective harassment policies, successful diversity awareness training, workforce monitoring, and other relevant themes.
Breakthrough Network members represent a wide range of service providers and government departments. Members receive comprehensive input from ORC on UK and European legal and social developments in equality and diversity. ORC also responds on behalf of member companies to government proposals and carries out surveys on behalf of members.
