Occupational Safety and Health Lawyers Group
For attorneys concerned with legal implications of occupational safety and health policy developments
The Occupational Safety and Health Lawyers Group is a network of attorneys who must stay abreast of the legal implications of occupational safety and health regulations and OSHA enforcement policies. A specific goal of this group is to provide support to attorneys whose major responsibilities are in areas other than occupational safety and health but who still have significant occupational safety and health legal responsibilities.
The Lawyers Group meets twice a year, in May and November, in conjunction with the Occupational Safety and Health Group. The discussions and activities of this group focus on OSH-related legal issues and trends, developments in litigation, and the activities of the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission with emphasis on OSHA compliance information, enforcement activity. regulatory activity, and settlement strategies and skills; management of outside counsel; federal safety and health legislation; and legal decisions on workplace safety and health issues.
Members share up-to-date occupational safety and health information, opportunities to shape policy through contacts with key policymakers and legislators, networking with professional peers, and access to a members-only Web site and interactive bulletin board.
