Western Occupational Safety and Health Group
A network for managers responsible for safety and health issues at major organizations operating in the western United States
A network of professionals ranging from OSH executives to medical and legal specialists from major, innovative companies based or operating in the western United States, this group meets quarterly and communicates frequently between meetings.
The group premise is that providing safe and healthful working conditions is the mutual concern of employers, employees, government agencies, and local communities. The group promise is to provide a link between members and the appropriate government agencies, both federal and state, thus working to all constituents' benefit.
At meetings, members share information with each other, representatives of federal and state regulatory agencies, and invited experts from the occupational safety and health or environmental fields. These sessions provide opportunities for informal benchmarking and the exchange of information about safety and health and environmental management practice. Between meetings, members stay in touch through both casual and structured contacts.
ORC furthers members' interests with direct contacts with various relevant regulatory agencies, as well as by linkages with voluntary standards organizations, safety and health professional groups, and major industry and trade associations.
